Claire’s Perfect Morning

 

Claire took a sip from her cup and the world swirled about while it emptied into her. That warm somersault suddenly froze when she fixed eyes on a stranger that passed. She realized he was not a stranger at all but the man she once knew as “Mitch.” When Claire discovered the beverage descending onto her chin and hands and eventually her lap, it seemed Mitch went by a new name. Claire swore.

Mitch turned his head.
