PainA Poem by JJ EscobarFor too long you have crippled me I indulged in you, which caused me so much self destruction It took my sights off who I was working to be I see you now, you better beware my new construction I was blinded by every wound You slowed me down with so much fear I would see my state and think I was doomed Slowly... I've lost myself with every passing year Yet I keep racing, now that I am battle tested You beat down the naïve, little boy So a courageous man rises, the one for whose heart you contested Your hold on me, my King will destroy You're finished, even though you're a real and valid feeling Because you evolved into something that kept me from Divine Healing
