Chapter 2A Chapter by JitsunChapter 2
The bathroom door opened and a young brown haired girl walked in. “You’ll do!” A shadowy figure leapt from the corner and pinned the brown haired girl to the wall. Its fangs sank into the girl’s neck, blood trickling from the wounds. The girl’s eyes widened, until her head draped over, dead. The figure released the girl who fell over on the ground. It licked its lips clean of any blood and exited the bathroom. Kiki made her way down the hall, pain pulsing through her head still. “I need to… I need to sustain this thirst,” mumbled Kiki. She stumbled down the hall until she found her locker, quickly putting in the combination. She grabbed something that reflected light and slipped it into her pocket. As she returned to the bathroom she saw Mrs. Bozina waiting in the hall for her. “Crap,” Kiki turned to walk the other way. “Where do you think you’re going, Kimberly?” growled Mrs. Bozina. “Um… well, um… all the bathrooms are locked. I’m trying to-” explained Kiki. “Trying to lie to me! You’ve been gone for fifteen minutes, there is no way you’re just looking for the bathroom,” grumbled Mrs. Bozina with a British accent. “I- but- I’m not lying!” argued Kiki. “Get in this class room!” ordered Mrs. Bozina. Pain shot through Kiki’s head. “Ungh!” She collapsed, falling onto her knees. Her vision waved and faded and she fell over to the side. “Kimberly?” inquired Mrs. Bozina. She waddled over to Kiki to check on her. “My head… I need to feed…” Kiki lost consciousness. James sat in his history class bored out of his mind. Behind him was his taller friend Marisa. She had all long limbs, like a dancer and long brown hair. James started to sketch a picture of a man wearing a blindfold. “James,” whispered Marisa. “You should be taking note,” “What do you think?” asked James. “The hands aren’t great, I know, but other than that, how is it?” “The feet they look like he’s on his tippy toes,” answered Marisa. “But you should be paying attention,” “Don’t worry, I am, the Egyptians invaded Mars or some crap like that right?” chuckled James. “I’m serious,” whisper Marisa. “So am I,
we’re discussing how Egyptians were killed when the “Fine, but if you fail, it’s you who’ll be grounded,” warned Marisa. “So, are the feet any better?” asked James. “Much actually,” “Isn’t that right James?” asked a woman in the front of the room. “Actually, yesterday my Ancient Civilization teacher said that the flood would destroy the cities and towns, but no one would die because the Nile floods the same time every year so they would escape the waters before they even came; and the flood wasn’t bad for Egypt’s growth; it guided it because each year it would bring fresh black soil, called Kemet, which was very fertile and could be used to grow crops until the next flood,” answered James. “Wow, you were listening to Mrs. M,” laughed Marisa. “Told you,” smiled James. Kiki woke up, glancing around to see where she was. She lay on a bed in the nurse’s office. Pain still pulsed through her head. “Wh-What happened?” A nurse came over. “You passed out. How are you feeling?” “Me?” asked Kiki. “My head hurts, but I think I’m fine,” Kiki went to get up, but her head still pounded. “May I use the bathroom?” “Yes, would you like some help?” asked the nurse. “I think I can manage thanks,” Kiki forced herself to her feet, clenching her fists as pain smacked against the side of her head. She stumbled to the nurse’s bathroom, swaying with the pain in her head. When she got inside she balanced herself against the closed door and took the metallic object out of her pocket while rolling up her right sleeve. She held a blade up against her wrist. “I-I must feed,” She pulled the blade, slicing open her wrist. Blood flowed out of the open wound, running down her arm. She put her lips to the cut and started to drink the blood, the dark red liquid dyeing her lips. Her body appeared to loosen and her breathing became more controlled and regular. The pain in her head stopped and she let herself sit on the floor as she licked the blood off of her arm. “It’s not human, but it’ll do until the end of school,” Kiki covered the wound with bandages which she kept in her back pocket and rolled the sleeve over them. She licked the blood off of the pocket knife and then stuck it behind the toilet. Looking in the mirror she realized that blood had trickled down the corners of her mouth so she washed her face in the sink. Upon exiting the bathroom the nurse looked up from her desk at her. “How are you feeling?” asked the nurse. “Better, thank you… what time is it?” asked Kiki. “It is almost the end of the day, in fact it’s last period,” answered the nurse. “Would you mind if I just stayed here the rest of the day?” requested Kiki. “Of course not,” answered the nurse. When the bell rang Kiki gathered her books and rushed out of the office. She made her way past the crowds in the hall and got to her locker. After grabbing her backpack Kiki slammed shut the locker to find James at the locker beside hers. “Kiki! How was your first day?” asked James. “I wasn’t feeling well,” answered Kiki, “I’ll catcha in homeroom; I have to go Jim,” “James,” He corrected. “Yeah, sorry, I like to shorten things,” Kiki rushed past James, accidentally bumping him. James dropped his bag, but quickly grabbed it and slung it on his shoulder. “Kiki wait!” Kiki rushed down the hall and slammed open a side door. Right outside was a giant forest, so lush no sun peeked through. Kiki threw a black cloak over herself and darted for the dark woods. Once she got out of the reach of the sun she stuffed the cloak back in her bag. “S**t!” Kiki gripped her hand and fell to her knees. “God, it hurts!” She looked at her right hand, biting her lip to cope with pain. The skin on her hand was peeled back, charred, and seared, bits of the flesh visible. “Damn sun!” Tears filled her eyes as the burns pulsed pain through her hand. © 2010 Jitsun |
