An Ros

An Ros

A Poem by jinjahman
"

I live in An Ros or 'Rush', North Co. Dublin.

"
No big fuss
around Rush
honest to goodness
around every bush
A light lifts the lambay
at break of each day
and summer stretches its stay
out on the harbour green
standing as samson at kenure
the symbols of strength embedded
in each and every pillar
the heart and might and locks and fight
are bred strong at gate's turn
ah the gate
the pale's mistrust
shut out traveller
caravanning turns cap peninsular
as history's must
