A Measure of your MindA Poem by jinjahmanTricks of the mindI poured a measure of your mind into a glass full of ice and watched as it made from it sweet wine; but not for my mind! I glanced left and right crossing the bridge to your heart; I was caught by a briar that spat secateurs at me; but not for my heart, no! I shared a dance with you on a roof made from promises; I fell to the ground amidst the admirers gathered to see you; but not to see my mono-dance! I drew a line and wrote it down and pinched some salt and licked a wound and sat up and listened.. It was my mind and heart both dancing to the sound of far distant stanzas aching on a plain empty page. © 2010 jinjahman |
