Mere Ink

Mere Ink

A Poem by jinjahman
"

musing on creatures and existence and reincarnation and what we're taught and how we love........and....and....and

"
a tortoise twisted and turned
in a bed of leaves
with his lover nearby
it was a very very long night
so much so
the lover was dead by morning light

the hare sprinted his blessing
leaving aftershave in a haze
a daze of loves afterburn spurned
for advanced ear: confessing

crisp mentor
or
minty teacher:
frog march
total tea drinkers
under leaf cover
for Heaven's evening

Now,
ion-wired elk in the clearing
appearing at dawn
times 10
if you wait long enough
he'll come again

~*~
a trinity of imagined lives beyond this mere ink..
tortoise incarnate
suave hare
indelible elk
just think

this doesn't just touch the mind on the surface, this goes deep.
I enjoyed the hints of inner rhyme, it added a nice sway do the dance of words.

I am... thinking...and thinking. This is existential to the max. I can relate to the tortoise's tossing and turning, but I love the image of the ion-wired elk in the clearing at dawn: crystal clear and beautiful.
