Doing the Rinse
Yinseriv

Everything learned about love in my past was held onto
An old bag saved because
I never knew any different.
Like my drug of choice I lovingly placed you in a spoon
Drawn swirling into my life
Injected so I might feel whole.
All this time clean doesn’t equal recovery if I used you
An object to banish
The darkness from my soul.
You’ve given up and left running from my needs
Insanely I replay conversations
Desperate like doing a rinse

A bag is okay to save but this poem is not... 10 for effort.

What an insightful poem. I love the line "All this time clean doesn't equal recovery if I used you". I can think of no stronger sentence.
