Lupita

A Poem by jimecuador
"

A friend just passed away.

"
I couldn't help myself.
The kiss came from somewhere deep within.
I gently kissed her on the forehead.
She didn't flinch.
Her smile said it all.
That day we each painted with acrylics on wood.
I was hoping that this would become a tradition.
She passed away earlier this morning on Mother's Day.
I have this memory and I will cherish it forever.
The hurt hasn't hit me yet, but I know it's coming.
I expect to shed some tears as I will not hear her making fun of my dancing.
I will miss her.

This is a very touching and melancholic piece. It's really the name that pulled me in. What's the significance?
