Against oppression, and the love of what is right

Against oppression, and the love of what is right

A Poem by Luke Logan

Not the Earth, nor all the billions of stars
in the sky, shall pass the test of history,
Nevertheless, our love shall be more celebrated than wars,
feuds that tell tales of freedom and victory.
Not corrupt laws that people fight to change,
Not revolutions that drive tyrants from power,
Nor stereotypes and opinions we find strange,
nothing can remove our loving seconds, minutes, and hours.
Against oppression, and the love of what is right
Shall we struggle forward; our praise of God above
Shields us from the evil that permeates the night
And leads us toward an eternity of love.
Therefore, until the end, what’s mine is yours; what's yours is mine.
We live for now; we love for all time.
