The Essence Of Time

The Essence Of Time

A Poem by Jillian Alexis

Oh time how you move me,

propelling me back and forth

reflecting my past, dictating my future

I caress your outer shell, yearning for just one frozen moment,

enough time to taste the sweetness of peace

and the bitterness of denial

for this life is moving on with or without me,

and i am running on air, struggling to gain ground

on an entity that  is impossible to stop

Jillian, how one can sense the stream of time in your words.. always moving.. yet directing itself toward what lies ahead and giving us glimpses of where the water has run. You fill your poem with depth and emotion in this struggle we all face, and those scenes we've viewed relentlessly on the news of late.

{I love this}
