Mother of Mine

Mother of Mine

A Poem by Jillian Alexis

Your blood flows through her,

some say your connected

She wanted to die,

thinking she had wrecked it

A mother's daughter with a slight loss for words

taking your problems,

making them hers

Blaming herself for the years that she cried

knowing you didnt make an effort, you didnt even try

What she wants seems impossible

you've shattered her pride

Shes given her all, yet standing with nothing

Shes considering taking her loss

and turning it into a blessing

So many subtle glimpses of a mother and daughter relationship. There is a sadness, a deep sense of loss here. However, the last lines bring such a feeling of hope.. Beautiful.
