The Forgotten Story

The Forgotten Story

A Poem by Jijo Francis

I too had a story, colored brilliantly
It was my breath till now.
Things keep changing, fading away.
Memories sweet and eerie.

Why are dreams so confusing?
I tried, I just wanted to be happy.
It's hard, can't see or hear what I love
I wept then & now, disrupted by time.

I was building memories, sweet & tall.
Hoping, dreaming to be a part again.
I'm caught in a maze, confused.
Scared to lose, my lost treasures.

Dusting off the ashes of my hope,
Horrified as I'm realizing life's truth.
I'm failing to feel sorry for myself,
As I wish to re-live my forgotten story.
