INT. GILBERT’S OFFICE- 5:37 PM
(INTRO)
(Overview of the office, then transitions into close-ups of the bulletin board and awards on the wall next to it.)
Annalise Gilbert
(IN HEAD)
“Today marks 1 year, 7 months, and 23 days since Rylee Richard’s disappearance. I am Detective Annalise Gilbert, and I have been on this case since day 1. We have been searching for Rylee for a while now. I just hope we can find her in time. We have about 3 months until the case goes cold. With lack of evidence, the station cannot keep funding this case.”
(Annalise can be seen staring at the bulletin board, thinking about something. She paces back and forth 3 times.)
FADE TO BLACK
SCENE 2
OUSE- EARLY MORNING
(INTRO TO PARENTS)
(Bella can be seen with her head in her hands, sitting on the front porch)
Bella Richards
(QUIETLY)
“C’mon baby… Where are you? Please come home…”
(David walks out and puts his hand on Bella’s shoulder.)
David Richards
(TIRED SOUNDING)
“Hey Bells, c’mon back inside. I’ve got coffee going. It’s too cold out here…”
(He trails off)
Bella Richards
(MUMBLING)
“I’m coming… J-just give me a minute…”
(After a second, she sighs and they head inside together. They walk into the kitchen where the coffee pot is going. David pours coffee for both of them and leads her to the table.)
David Richards
(COMFORTINGLY)
“Bella, I’m sure she’ll be back soon. Detective Gilbert said so. It’ll be okay…”
(Bella sniffles and nods silently. She sips her coffee and decides to go back to bed. They head upstairs and the door closes behind them.)
FADE OUT
SCENE 3
CUT TO: PARKING LOT
EXT: POLICE DPT. PARKING LOT- 12:34 PM
(RYLEES BACK)
(Annalise walks out and then her phone rings. She pulls it out and she raises her brows)
ANNALISE GILBERT
(CONFUSED, BUT THEN TURNS INTO EXCITED. PUT SPACE BETWEEN LINES)
“Hello? Yes, this is her. Oh, hello! Yeah, I can be there in 10. Alright, see you then.”
(Annalise puts her phone away and speed-walks to her car. She gets in and the scene jumps to her being at the Richards’s house.)
DAVID RICHARDS
(EMOTIONAL, BUT HAPPY)
“Detective Gilbert! Thanks for coming on such short notice. W-we have something- someone to show you…”
ANNALISE GILBERT
(CONFUSED)
“Oh? Is it someone I should be worried about?”
(David shakes his head no and puts out his arm to wave her inside. She follows him inside and they go to sit in the living room)
BELLA RICHARDS
(CRYING, BUT HAPPY)
(Bella runs out and is smiling. She shakes Annalise’s hand.)
“Detective! Rylee’s back! She showed up this morning!”
(Annslise raises her brows and looks at both of the parents. They smile and nod, saying “Yes, she’s here”)
ANNALISE GILBERT
(VERY CONFUSED, BUT HAPPY)
“Can I see her? I would like to talk to her.”
(Bella and David share a glance, and then nod in agreement. David gets up and leads Annalise to Rylee’s room)
DAVID RICHARDS
(QUIETLY)
“Rylee? Hon, can we come in? Someone would like to see you.”
(They hear faint scuffling and something falling, then the door opens.)
RYLEE RICHARDS
(WIDE-EYED AND CONFUSED)
“Dad? Who’s that? Why is she here?”
(ANNALISE STEPS FORWARD.)
ANNALISE GILBERT
(QUIET AND SWEET)
“Hey, Rylee. I’m Annalise Gilbert, and I’m the main detective in your case. I’m here to ask you a few questions if that’s okay.”
(Rylee nods and agrees. She steps back from the door and lets her in. David walks back downstairs.)
RYLEE RICHARDS
(SCARED)
“What’s up? W-why are you here?”
(Annalise looks at her, then looks down at her boots. She is nervous to ask)
ANNALIESE GILBERT
(NERVOUS)
(CLEARS THROAT)
“So, you’ve been missing for so long, what happened?”
RYLEE RICHARDS
(STUTTERING)
“New topic. I-I don’t wanna answer that.”
ANNALISE GILBERT
(SHOCKED)
“Oh- okay… How about we discuss what will happen now that you’re back.”
RYLEE RICHARDS
(NERVIOS)
“I-I’m not sure. I mean I wanna see my family and friends again”
ANNALESE GILBERT
(HAPPY)
“Ok one more question- so how did�"”
(RYLEE INTERRUPTS)
RYLEE RICHARDS
(YELLING)
“Thats it, no more questions! Get out of my room”
ANNALESE GILBERT
(CONFUSED)
“O-ok honey. If you ever wanna talk just call me. Ok”
(Annalese leaves and Rylee sits on her bed looking starstruck)
SCENE 4
CUT TO: ANNALESES OFFICE

(ANNALESE HAVING ANOTHER FAIL AT SOLVING THE CASE)
ANNALESE GILBERT
(CONFIDENTLY TALKING TO SELF AND PACING)
“Why won't she tell me what happened? Is it all her plan? Is she plotting against me? Why am I talking to myself? So many questions and so little answers. ” (STOPS PACING AND LOOKS INTO BULLETIN BOARD)
“I will find out what happened, no matter how hard.”
(PRESSES HEAD AGAINST BOARD)
SCENE 5
CUT TO: PARK SIDEWALK/BENCH

(RYLEE AND GRAYSEN TALKING ON PARK BENCH)
RYLEE
(RUNNING ON SIDEWALK TOWARDS BENCH THEN RUNNING AND HUGGING/CRYING ON GRASENS SHOULDER)
“I've missed you so much”
GREYSEN
(RELIEVED YET CRYING A BiT TOO)
“Hey its ok now that we're together it will all be ok,”
(MAKES AN FACE SIGNALING HES HAD AN IDEA)
“Do you want me to spend the next week or so with you just until you get settled back in”
RYLEE
(LOOKING HIM DIRECTLY IN THE EYES AND SMILING AND SWAYING WITH HIM
“Yea I’d like that”
GRAYSEN
(HAPPY)
“Ok let's sit down”
(SIT CLOSE AND STILL CLINGED TOGETHER)
GRAYSEN
(NERVIOS)
“So what did happen”
RYLEE
(SCARED, CLINGING CLOSER AND LOOKING AROUND)
“I was walking out of the gas station when I just sorta blacked out, when I woke up I was in the woods”
(WHILE RYLEE SAYS THIS TWO PEOPLE WALK BY)
GRAYSON
(HUGGING RYLEE)
“Ohh my gosh, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I knew it would be horrible what you went through but not that bad.”
RYLEE
(EMBRACING GRAYSON)
“I don’t know what happened, was I assaulted did someone kidnap me then change there mind, and why was I gone for so long”
GRAYSON
(FINALLY RELEASING HUG AND LEANING BACK)
“I mean I can’t imagine not knowing that must be horrible”
(BOTH STAND UP AND HUG)
RYLEE
(SAD YET CONFERT)
“It is but I have you and that's what matters”
