That Fall DayA Poem by Matt HopeI'm still working on this one ,I feel it might need a few minor tweaks. Any suggestions?I walked those trails that fall day in search of you, through the partially naked trees, undressing her leaves crunching under my feet, Memories projecting from my heart playing on the big screen of my mind. I was seeing past times of simplicities, A child with a clean slate, and if not impossible, then improbable dreams, The world seemed so much bigger, yet I held it in the palm of my hand. Naive, innocent and also content. I remember when you were being built, A creation brought forth from my grandfathers hands, He created a house, My grandmother created a home, and it's that same home I once lived in, that now lives in me, and as I stood peering across the valley, through the winds whistle and the rustling of the leaves, I could hear ghost haunting from the past they laughed, they loved, they danced, I walked those trials that fall day in search of you. through the partially naked trees, undressing her leaves, crunching under my feet, © 2015 Matt Hope |
