Searching

Searching

A Poem by Matt Hope

I look past the stone you’ve become,
looking for a fleshly spirit but I find none,
I scream come alive, but you don’t budge,
I trudge under the sun, howl in tears under the moon,
but still I can’t find you,
falling asleep I travel my dreams
into nightmares,
tearing into night terrors,
Where are you? You left your body beside me,
and I think it’s on auto pilot because every once in awhile
it blinks and mechanically says” I love you  ”
So I continue my search in hopes that one day I’ll find you again,
Hold you in my arms and ask, where have you been? I’ve looked everywhere.

Thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean, could you give me a sample?

oooh the emptiness is haunting in this piece. One suggestion I would make is to put quotes here
I scream, "come alive," but you don’t budge,
and
Hold you in my arms and ask, "where have you been? I’ve looked everywhere."
I suggest this because you used the quotes around I love you.
