The Blessing of a Friend

The Blessing of a Friend

A Poem by Jeremy Hiles
"

This is a poem that came to me while I was sitting on my bed deep in thought one afternoon recently...

"
A friend is one who stays true,
In skies of grey, or skies of blue
A bond they share,
With each other
Is proof they care,
For one another
No number of miles,
No amount of space
Can tarnish the smiles
Upon each face

Time spent with friends is fleeting like a dove,
Yet this time is given from above
Time to laugh, cry and love
A true friend is beyond compare,
And can't be found just anywhere

When, a friend who is true, you find
One who is worth more than any diamond mine
A friend encourages, lose or win,
through thick and thin
Where others may doubt,
A friend will shout
"You can do it!"
"Yes, you can do it!"

So next time you feel down,
And you can't help but frown
Remember the gift of a friend,
The gift that doesn't end
Through rain, sun, or snow,
Wherever you go
Give thanks for the Blessing of a Friend
