WHEN WE TWO PARTED

the pain of parting

 When we two parted
      In silence and tears,
 So broken-hearted
      To sever for years,
  My cheek grew pale and cold,
       Colder my kiss;
  Truly that hour foretold
       Sorrow to this.


The dew of the morning
     Sunk chill on my brow,
It felt like the warning
     Of what I feel now.
Your vows are all broken,
     like light without flame


They seek you to me,
     A knell to my ear
 A shudder comes over me
     Why where are you my  dear?
They know that I know you
     and love you so well
How long should I wait for you?
    Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met
  In silence I grieve
That our  heart could forget
   Our spirit deceive.
If I should met you
   After long years,
How should I greet you
  With silence and tears?

well, it is a witty poem. free verse. i like this line-
'if I should met you

How should I greet you
With silence and tears?
......if you meet me after long years, cuddle me and feel me as i will cuddle you and feel you, in silence.

Just honest reviews? I only give honest reviews. I think this poem is written with elegance. Its definitely a heartfelt read. My favorite part was the ending. "In secret we met

If I should met you

  With silence and tears?" This is beautiful and eloquent. Great floe and rhythm too. Nice work! :)
