Where do we go

when we lose ourselves

Where do we find that person

we wanted to be?

Somehow we set them free

roaming, wandering, lost inside a world

that lingers inside us

kicking and screaming and begging to escape

but we can't hear them.....

We search, we dig, we hurt, we swallow pride

for what? the innocence of what was is now gone

there is a lingering reminder of a goodbye
