Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Juan Guerrero

taking the badge in my hand

i throw it across the room,

I'll no longer need it

ask my gloom.

here I lay on the bed

waiting for another day.

what goals have I lost,

that settle with that badge.

in the morning, I'll dig for it

between the closet

shirts, the blue uniform I wear

letting go of that child's why.

ha - great job. this is very powerful, especially the fact that you admit in the morning you'll look - there was something very profound about that - the difference between your whatever attitude, and the fact that you know you'll look in the morning - it was a great image, really. :)
