Symphonic Nights 2A Poem by Jason GalligerThe crescendo of rainfall Echoes off the dashboard
A percussion line of splashing steps And tire skids As ghosts glide under umbrella rims With dim distant glances
They freeze under the neon red glow Their pale reflections just visible in the broken white lines beneath As metal shimmers flash by With the occasional honk
No one dare mumble Or utter a word
Their empty thoughts and empty lies Would just be swallowed By Gaia’s sweeping masterpiece
So they wait Till sweet green release And they patter on
Their footsteps creating ripples That travel through the night © 2010 Jason GalligerReviews
