Symphonic Nights 1

Symphonic Nights 1

A Poem by Jason Galliger

band man chews his gum
a little musical heart
bleeds soulful under his thumb
hymning melodies when he runs
piercing static pecking birds
sending purple discharge
to bluegrass hills
and turquoise hammocks sway

sunshine beats down softly
time clicks slowly
his lock broken by the key

cell phone blues beckon
"return to reality"
all I can do
is hear the night

I like the trigger words. They convey a really nice mood. Summertime sunsets.

Sounds like the man isn't far enough to truly reach that isolated plane of creativity. Throw that phone away.

I saw a smoke filled bar filled with lonely souls entranced by the mournful soul sounds of the blues man... absolutely wonderful writing...
