Block Rhythm

Block Rhythm

A Poem by Jason Galliger

It’s the block

That this writer is fighting

With will of stone

And grains of sand

He lets his idealism

Fill the gaps

Hoping that a crack will appear

Of the chains that hold the doors closed

And let a glimmer of inspiration

Or words flow

Until then he waits

For the rhythm to begin again

Haha, this poem is fantastic. :) Great way to end the horrible monster we all desperately cringe from, writers block. Well done.

Haha, there's only one way to cure writers block... write about it. Well done.

Hate when that happens. Burn out, then... Yes, that makes it better, for me anyway. So you've captured, quite cleverly, the affliction we must all succumb to at some point. Luckily inspiration only ever needs a short break.

Classic. I really enjoy this.

The muse does become elusive at times... I cannot write unless inspiration compels... any time I am forced, I only conjure poetic monstrosities. Nice description of that feeling we all know too well...

I feel this way a lot too. Sometimes I have to make my own crack in the wall.

once the veil gets lifted and the sand has blown away, the words will flood you like a broken levee
