l'esprit d'inspirationA Poem by Jason Galligersomething you always find but can never keepElusive- She slips around the corner
You scurry up the sidewalk Weaving through foot traffic Just to try and get another glimpse
Starbucks cups go flying out of your path The New York Times takes flight migrating towards the sewer grate
You make it to the intersection Only to be stopped by the red hand of doom And potential death by taxi
Yet, as you search across the street You find her lounging lazily against the wall Her long wavy hair swaying in the wind Like streams of consciousness
Suddenly the light turns green And you cross Only to find she’s disappeared once again
Waiting to be found on some other corner. © 2010 Jason GalligerReviews
