For it isA Poem by Jason GalligerWithout hope we stand alone Without faith we crumble Without time Our bones will never be dust Without love There is no home A nomad seeks something In the never-ending blue Without a set path to follow He follows something new What is lost now is found What is broken Now is whole The one who searches deeply Is the one who bares his soul Eyes that are judging Staring all around Picking at the little things Just begging to be found Staring in the pool Of endless shadows Finding that life is just an illusion Something that can be drowned We hold ourselves closely With hope that the cold won’t come in And take away those feeble lives Hanging so close to the edge Staring through the lens Into some other world Seeking something not worth seeking Discovering something old Gnarled and ancient It’s something so massive The power within is un-doubtable Looking turns you passive When we try to move our lips To describe what it is Something catches us in mid-breath And takes the thought away But in the end we find a way To describe what it is It is something unmistakable Something that always was and always is Search deep within ourselves And we will find the right word Whether in French, Latin, German It will be heard For it is For it is………… © 2010 Jason Galliger |
