THE DANCEA Poem by JB MurrayAnother contest entry with a two line prompt... enjoyed this though... it took me places I wasn't sure I was going to go... always a joy when that happens.THE DANCE By: JB Murray © april 2010 As lightening shone and thunder blew I shudder, speak, whispers drawn With breath of lovers long since gone As lightening fell and thunder screamed I danced the dance that dreamers dream Of yesterdays and those now lost A soundless cry, the fiery cross As lightening lies and thunder truths I danced the dance that lovers use On velvet sheets, a sinner’s kiss A promise falls from broken lips As lightening steals and thunder shakes I danced the dance that jesters fake The jeers the smiles the hollow laughs All forced beneath this actors mask As lightening fades and thunder sleeps I danced the dance the dying keep Under fallen leaves where darkness looms I lay eternal where flowers bloom © 2010 JB MurrayAuthor's Note
