The Darkest Place

The Darkest Place

A Poem by JB Murray

THE DARKEST PLACE

jb Murray © july 2012

The darkest place

This place within

With windows black

And floors worn thin

A staircase now

With fewer stairs

The railings pitched

Stripped and bare

The echoed laugh

Down unlit halls

Of childish dreams

And curtain calls

A bitter chill

Through broken panes

Such shivers fall

Like shadows stain

No lights to switch

No locks to key

Just these four walls

And all of me

I love this. It just seems that the person living this is so lost. I might be wrong, but that's what I get out of this. Either way, it is beautifully written.
