Apparitions of FacesA Poem by J.F.Davidsinspired by my favorite Ezra Pound poem "In the Station of the Metro"I see ghosts Of people still mortal. I see ghosts Of people I know, In different shades of new behaviors, Slowly sifting through the layers Of epidermis and hair. I see ghosts of energy, And I've seen ghosts of prophecies. These people in the crowd Seem to forget that they're allowed The life they want to lead. Apparitions of faces Look dead to me. And when I meet the sun I'll feel the shine on me, Knowing that I should try remembering the things I'll never see Again. I'll be blind to insecurities. I'll be blind to human beings. After what the sun will show me, The Earth, the way she used to be, I will finally get to dream when I'm asleep. Apparitions of faces, Look dead towards me. © 2012 J.F.Davids |
