Anticipating You

 

I long to see you walk through the door

To see your face, hold you in my hands

To measure time spent together by sunrises and shadows passing along the floor

Hurry to me as slowly as you can go

Feeling each other along this journey of discovering you and me

Because there is so much more for us to know

Exploring our natural compatibility

Finding a beginning that is never ending

The water is deep so let’s put in our feet

Lending each other strength and supporting one another’s faith

Building a bounty of hope until it flourishes into a blazing sphere

To send out into the world as our envoy

Our sweetheart valentine filled with joy

Casting a spell on every lover as it traverses wide and far

As they wish upon that first night’s star

Just as I gaze up from afar

Counting down days in sunrays

Until I see your sweet face and hold you in my hands

And we can lie together; wrapped only in each other

I love sweet poems like these! I admire that I can relate to your poem with my own experiences, you've mastered translating the sappy emotions of love into something so much more intense. I think you have wrote this beautifully and it carried a nice rhythm all the way through, well done.
