Moonkiss

Moonkiss

A Poem by Kallima
"

you would know if you have had a moonkiss, sigh...

"

When a kiss is wrong, it’s bad
Lips do not coincide and you wish that your partner had
Not just put their entire tongue in your mouth
They may stare at you with fish eyes
Until you realize you are trying way too hard to make this kiss work
When it should come naturally…
It’s physically and spiritually moving
To be granted the gift
Of a perfect kiss
When your lips first touch and form an ideal juxtaposition
Moving together in rhythm
Noses dancing around each other in teasing and mischievous ways
Lips are apart and tongues just graze   each other
You and your lover are about to experience a moonkiss
You’ve closed your eyes and feel as if you’ve begun to rise
Away from the pull of earth’s gravity
Levity is leaving you as you float through the stratosphere
Your senses heighten and vision becomes ever clear
Up above all the cares and woes of the world
You are just a boy and just a girl
Arms wrapped around each other
Drifting through the sky on the currents of a zephyr
Traveling past star clusters visible only to the lover’s eyes
Guided by lunar moths and butterflies
Reaching the ultimate destination of climatic elation
That last bastion where surrender is given

You’ve been taken to the moon
By a kiss
It’s never been like this
Damn
