Clockwork

Clockwork

A Poem by Juno

One day, one month, one year later

You still fill my “day-to-day”

And now I find myself unable

To handle all these conversations

With all these meaningless jokes

The saying goes, “time heals all wounds”

So I haven’t looked away from the clock

Much like a habit, I want to call out to you

But like the hands of time

We keep running past each other

I especially like the last lines...how you related yourselves to the clock hands you always find yourself looking back at. The title, and the word choices, both used to overwhelm the reader with this idea of time, really work well.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This could be about a relationship ended or even a lost loved one. An interesting take, Juno!
