A Duel with the Dual

Not a poem, not a story, just a little insight on me...

As Far back as I can remember, I have dueled with dual selves.  These selves are very distinct, and very extreme in their natures.   Not so much a split personality, but more a battle between two very dear friends with me somewehre in between waiting to congratulate the winner.  In one corner of the ring, exists the part of me i like to call the "corporate entity.".  He is an overacheiver, a Jock, a wise guy.  His confidence is attractive to women.  He aspires to achieve great things in all manner of enterprise.  He has an innovative outlook that is ascribed a bit to the part of me that exists in the other corner, the "artistic entity."  This side of me is a bit bruised from life, very cynical, and exponentially more expressive than my corporate self.  He stays out late, writes, paints.  He can spend a whole evening scraping the bottom of the barrel of his insides for inspiration to do these things.  He follows his dreams, and his heart.  He goes with his insticnst, but he is weaker in a way.  He is just a bit more unstable than his coleague in the first corner.  In his weakness, however, lies his greatest strength, his vision.

It is only when the two of these entities converge to form balance, that I am truly whole.

A very intersting insight. You've obviously thought a lot about who you are. I like how you enable the reader to visualise the two forces of your personality as people or characters with their own personalities, facets and flaws, rather than simply as abstract embodiments of traits within you. Great work!
