Lonely Evening, With Jazz

Lonely Evening, With Jazz

A Poem by Jay M. Jones

Lonely Evening, With Jazz

JMJ

Sitting amongst the great thinkers on my coffee table

as the band plays that sweet jazz from the stereo speakers.

The unmistakable melody of cohesive forwardness, fresh and ripe with

An intelligence that borders on insanity

Coltrane will put me to bed tonight

Joseph Campbell will read me a bedtime story

A lonely evening, with Jazz
