Consequence (to all the girls I've loved before)

Consequence (to all the girls I've loved before)

A Poem by Jay M. Jones

Consequence
(To all the girls I've loved before)

It would seem as though it is that time.

That time when we get to look back at how crazy things can get.
There will come a day, and yes, it will come,
when you've spent your last ounce of energy on whomever happnes to be in your bed that night...

The sky will be pitch black, and there will be a mirror in the bathroom as you wash yourself off
You'll look into this mirror, and see past yourself finally..
You'll see what got you there, see how much sand is left in yoru hourglass...
You'll see how much sand was spilled on the floor in front of you...
You'll see how time has worn the once solid contours of your face..
That's an important moment, because it's my moment...
that is when you will remember...
that is when you will learn finally..
and what I have always tried to teach you..
...consequence..
