I sense a sadness here. A home once filled with joy and laughter seems to have fallen quiet and all that is now heard is the silence coming off the painted walls.
Home becomes like this when the children grow up and leave and the elders pass away. It’s a time of sad transition, and nicely conveyed in your senryu. ❤️

When there is barrier of communication and when the time to say goodbye it does... I feel my grandpa though no longer with us.. his footsteps there leaving trail... he is like one of one... :)

this is a great spin on the ciche 'if these walls could speak.' that a house or a home is somewhere that contains the memories of our past lives is a truism that often gets lost in our age of building more and more. but if you are lucky enough to live in a place where memories are abound, i hope you cherish it and hold on to those good things.
