A Poem by Jeyanthi
"

Eyelash

"
My eyes twitching
out of no sleep
but suddenly you fell,
being a good catcher
I hold you carefully
on my palm
and my eyes become bright
I put on my knuckles
close my eyes
and blows it away
with wishful thinking
of my words
to reach you.

With eyes full
of hope
and sleeping.

Ya I believe in too like million others: )...as we wink and the lash falls on our knuckles we feel excited that we got new lucks and new chance to wish ...Doesnt this small hair lash bring so much hope and wishful thinking in us. Its not bad after all... just a reminder to be hopeful as we carry on our responsibilities and why not look forward to some good results too...its only human!
I really enjoyed your writing and wish all your hopes be true ...Sleep like a baby dear and wake up to a new dawn of yours!

This poem captures a tender, almost magical moment of care and longing, using simple yet evocative language. The image of *“you fell”* and the speaker catching the subject on their palm creates an intimate, protective gesture, while the act of *“blowing it away / with wishful thinking”* introduces a sense of desire for connection, a wish to send words or thoughts to someone. The closing lines, *“With eyes full / of hope / and sleeping,”* suggest a quiet, vulnerable hope, almost as if the speaker’s wishes are being sent into the dream world, where they may find their way to the other person.

The poem’s delicate, almost childlike tone and focus on small, intimate actions are reminiscent of poets like Rainer Maria Rilke and Naomi Shihab Nye, who both use simple, personal imagery to convey deep emotional resonance and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. The style is gentle, introspective, and filled with a sense of longing, making it a poignant meditation on hope, care, and connection.

Thank you 😀
A beautiful dream, eyes fluttering....thinking of a loved one; awake momentarily then back to sleep all the while musing about love.....there is a point of drowsiness between slumber and fully awake....luckily, you caught her fall!
Thank you for sharing
Warmly, B

Tiredness is very finely captured in this poem, Jeyanthi. I love how you paint a picture of your reader of your eyes twitching from lack of sleep. I guess your eyelash fell from rubbing your eyes. I wish you peaceful rest and sleep tonight, dear poetess. Thank you for sharing your lovely poem with me this evening. Very nicely inked...
