Azure

Azure

A Poem by jex
"

part three of the new version of the Colors series

"
I never knew what love was until I saw her eyes,
Beautiful azure globes that seem to be the portal to eternity,
And I was the lucky one she fell in love with

Through the years our love grew stronger,
As we quickly grew closer and closer,
Almost as if our love was a hideous larva slowly turning into a butterfly

On my dying day I kissed her goodnight and farewell,
A lasting goodbye fit for soulmates

In the afterlife I suffered a million tortures,
None as horrible as the knowledge that I was causing her such horrible pain,
And knew that nothing I could do would fix it

Eternities seemed to pass,
As day by day I saw her slowly drain away,
So lifeless and grief stricken

Then I finally made a deal with the devil,
I finally gave him everything he wanted,
Just so I could spend my life with her

On the day the fire scorched the sky,
I became hers again,
But at a cost that I realized was far too horrendous

Each and every single day,
I saw her slowly drain away,
And prayed she would heal both emotionally and physically

All my prayers were in vein,
For no god would ever accept the prayers of a damned man

In desperation I called upon him,
The soul stealer,
To change my bargain

Alas,
A soul stealer will never refund a transaction

Oh spirits and entities,
What have I done?

Wonderful title! And the poem itself is bleeding regret and has insight...beautifully worded!
Lamentation at its best but unique for it is the entities being asked, who can battle with their decisions?!

Wow, you continued the story well with this part, Azure. Nicely done, I like the heartbreak and romance in this.
