wishing you were still here

wishing you were still here

A Poem by Lana
"

For my mother

"

There was a time in life when you were alive.
Where I felt I be what I wanted to be.
I could be a superhero and you’d support be all the way.
Then one day that dream left.
You were gone.
I was alone.

When you left everything crashed
My reality faded
Wishing you were still here
To protect me from him
To protect from his abuse

Wishing you were still alive
So I could call you Mommy
And run to your arms
Wishing you were still alive
So I could show you how much you mean to me

Today I walk alone,
Yet I have your strength
Your smile, and your joy
I am your procedure
I am going to accomplish everything that you wished for yourself.

Cancer may have taken you away
But you still live strong
Through me, you will succeed.

When you left everything crashed
My reality faded
Wishing you were still here
To protect me from him
To protect from his abuse

Wishing you were still alive
So I could call you Mommy
And run to your arms
Wishing you were still alive
So I could show you how much you mean to me

I miss you every single day.
I hope to see you sometime soon.
