Catalyst
A Story by Lily
A catalyst, an object that increases the speed of a chemical reaction while not undergoing a reaction itself.
Walking into a bar, some people see a person to hook up with, Some people will see sadness and drunks drowning their sorrows with alcohol. Me, I see a set of people separated into groups and sub groups, sub-sub groups and eccetera. I see people who are casual drinkers, drunks, social drinkers, pressure on everyone. I survey the population and decide on someone to converse with. Upon deciding, I adjust myself, manipulating my outward appearance as to who I'm talking to without meeting them, know all about them before they say it, calling a lie on someone half way through their sentence. Never a challenge. But when I met someone just as hyper observant as myself, I don't see it in their clothing, posture, not even walk, I see it in their eyes, the slight glint when they see me, I see them, and we connect on a deeper level. Those of us who are beyond one soul.

This is a strangely deep story. For a story with no vampires, action or horror, I am surprised I enjoyed it so much!

My English teachers always went through my writing, ignored everything but spelling and commas. Not something I enjoyed having thirty marks on my papers and getting a F and under it reading "Fewer commas."

Stubbornness provials once again!

There are a few things that came out of it, at my school the most annoying bully was expelled because he called me, you guessed it, luke-mia sky walker. Needless to say, that never was said again in our town.
