Playing Pretend

Playing Pretend

A Poem by Natasha Montgomery

Maybe I'm deluding myself.
Maybe I'm just pretending to have feelings and none of this is actually real.
Like feelings are some sort of sick, twisted, coping mechanism for non-existence.
I miss the days when I would pretend to be a unicorn with wings, running around in the woods.
Living a fantasy life.
