Destruir

Destruir

A Story by j.l. luna

Words dripping

in a promise that is

quickly slipping

into a chemical sleep

induced by

nocturnal synchrony

Lascivious intentions

halted by a lack of

socialized conventions

Death defines our miracles

Mortality gives us a sense of

things coming full circle

But we will waste

more than

we will embrace

And here we are

sitting inside broken clocks

The doors are all open

because we destroyed the locks

Time is a concept we created

so that this

can mean something more

than the breath on our lips

Learn to adore the simplicity

or lose what makes up

you entirely

I have no sympathy

for those that lack empathy

You might be human

You might be machine

But either way it

isn’t comforting

Destruction

is merely

creation’s

equal.
