We Are Made From the Same ThingsA Poem by j.l. luna
Up where the city lights look like ornaments on last year's Christmas tree
Colors blend together, swimming around like an underwater menagerie You will fall and nobody is listening anymore There is no truth They'll try to tell you there is But it's all about the perspective you use It's all over the news So, close your eyes... The manufactured revolution is now being televised We run like there is something more waiting, but really we're just suffocating, so many people to please and I can't f*****g breathe. Longing for a lack of anatomy and more like that of an astral being, we settle for a normative way because we can't grab what we're seeing. Oh darling, I wish I could hold you Tell you everything will cease That your generation will find peace That you won't succumb to the terrors the night brings But if you hold onto that small belief, that the cycle of life will repeat until you are freed, maybe it will make it easy... May air guide you Fire soothe you Water cleanse you And earth protect you Child, may you find your wings before everything explodes again © 2014 j.l. luna |
