Just Passing ThroughA Poem by j.l. luna
I sold my soul to a man in Los Angeles
I was hungry, and needed to eat breakfast and I figured that I'd never need it Inspire Create something before your hands catch fire No water exists that can douse the remnants of your suppressed desires I told my story to a kid at the park The air was freezing, and the sky was dark He told me, "existence is art" And in the face of threatening winds I knew I had nothing left to teach him Keep a quick pace But if you make decisions in haste you'll be left to wait An unfortunate contradiction of an already exacerbated condition I sang my song to a bird who was better than me in every sense of the word She told me, "listen and I'll show" I closed my eyes and let the lesson take hold Freedom carries sacrifice so take caution walking on ice We are merely momentary © 2014 j.l. lunaReviews
