Bleed Blue and Let the Stars Take You (Home)

A Poem by j.l. luna

It's die or survive
You masked the symptoms
and stopped waiting for the sun to rise

I feel it in the resistance
the pulsing beneath your bleeding lips
It's a fist fight
between your thoughts and this endless night

It was summer when the world shifted
opened up its jaws, bearing teeth
breaking your bones and bringing you to your knees
Love stole you,
sold you quicker than eternity on forty eight hours of no sleep

Guess I can't blame you
It's like a dream you can't attach to
Memories, like starving demons
suck relentlessly from this child of the moon

No soul to save, just one to break. Collecting disappointment in the form of six feet deep body aches.

She'll return one day
to the earth that gave her life
And maybe it'll teach you
that there's nothing permanent about being alive

Words that are simple, but true
Those that you love
will forget you
forget you
You...will forget this is true

You can be buried alive and still be breathing, but you can't hold onto what is fleeting

So let it go

Lose your fear
or lose
what keeps you here.

I agree.
"Lose your fear
or lose
what keeps you here."
We must stand for our goals and dreams. Can allow fear to stop us from reaching for great things. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
