Into the Black HoleA Poem by j.l. lunaI held your heart like a child’s hand The universe played in your eyes Colliding stimuli I felt my world collapse under the weight of fate’s biggest surprise
It’s a shattered attempt to recognize failure over fear A restlessness found in the words you couldn’t hear Muffled conversations… …and I’m left alone again, to find my isolated destination
You’re recycled air, lost in time A processed version of a copied paradigm You’re coming undone at the seams Forgot to tie it off at the ends and now you have to begin again
You were too busy trying to turn water into wine, while I chose intoxication of a different kind…
Your eyes were mixtures of greys and blues Deep like craters, cosmic, like a kaleidoscopic moon
Blood drips from a needle too thick to pierce veins, but to you it’s the same because it’s all about how the sight of it feeds your brain
I sang to you under constellations I couldn’t name, paid attention to your movements and made miracles of the mundane
You stole my voice, captured the poisonous weapon of your siren left me to die off slowly, no longer singing to breathe you in
I swore at that moment that I would learn the names of every last star, and put them in a poem and keep them in a jar
And you said: “You are sun, you are fire, you are deeper than desire. You are water, you are moon, you are unorganized chaos unleashed too soon. If you look closely you will find that this is love of a different kind…”
If I was the earth, you were the wind, and every other element watched you sink inside my skin…gone faster than an eye blink You became just another set of stars in the sky, bright and shining, hot enough to make the comets cry
But I’ve read this book before, I’ve gone through every page You’re just another astrological mess The only constellation I can’t name © 2014 j.l. lunaReviews
