In The Eyes Of A Child, All Is Right, Even If It's Wrong.

In The Eyes Of A Child, All Is Right, Even If It's Wrong.

A Poem by jumbie's #1 fan

I'm at a standstill.
The silence is deafening.
And the tears
they flow
Washing off the blood on my hands
The bruises on my skin
Of repeated betrayal
Once Again.

Cries fill my ears
The sounds of a lost child
Crying out for his mother
Doesn't understand
How he could do this
How could be betray mommy?
A smile breaks across his face
Completely unaware
Of all that's going on.

He doesn't see mama's tears
He doesn't understand her fears
Where are we going? he wonders
Where's daddy? he cries
But that's all they are
Tears, shouts,
A wordless child
In a world full of words
Words that can destroy
A marriage
A life
A family
Words that could destroy me
And everything I expected us to be.

I-wow. Being quite young myself, I find it hard not to think from the child's pov, and you describe both perfectly and flawlessly. I'm off to read more of your work now.
