Mistress ArachnidA Poem by jesthepoetJust having a little fun!~Mistress Arachnid~
Arachnid! Please…..don't be alarmed! I had a dream of connection, I will not do you harm today, with the hard back heel of my slipper, as I have done to so many of your kin. Warily, I muse: Do you know, do you sense my fear, my secret sin? What wisdom do you hold in that tiny, gossamer frame? What wonders do you meditate as you cling to my shower wall? Such stillness in your thready legs, a buddhist would be shamed. Would I be so serene if some fleshy giant invaded my place of worship? Despite this grudging admiration; I rinse my hair with one eye open, just in case you're peaceful posture is a clever ruse and you suddenly jump for my jugular. Vengeance for all your brethren slain!!! You never move, never even flinch, and I'm relieved as I reach for my towel. Pausing… I feel I must leave you with this warning: Find somewhere else to hold your services, I pray. For we humans are a fickle lot and should I find you here, on some other day, you may not find me so enlightened. ©J.E.S. © 2008 jesthepoet |
