Fix Me

Fix Me

A Poem by Jessy

Everyone's been trying to "fix me".

As if I need to be fixed

Like I'm some broken project

Caught up in the mix

Once, I would've jumped at the chance

For someone to care about my heart

But I've taken all those broken heart strings

And tore the thing apart

'Cause I don't need anyone to hold me

I can hold myself well enough

So don't you dare try to show up late

After things have been taken care of

I'm exactly who I'm supposed to be

The girl who stopped caring

So what could you possibly do for me?

Not a damn thing.

I feel like this poem shouts self-reliance, while still whispering a need to be made whole again.
Though you can feel the strength in it, you can still feel the pain behind the words of someone longing to be while. A wonderful write! great job.
