Everything

Everything

A Poem by Jessy

Why do you look at me like that?

Like I'm a priceless artifact and not some used up chew toy.

Like you could stare at me for days, and not regret the time wasted.

Why do you look at me like you've found what you've been looking for forever? Like I'm going to stop the end of the world.

You look at me like some piece to the puzzle that holds the answers to life.

Like I'm the cure for cancer, aids and hunger packed into one super sized girl.

Why do you look at me like you're staring up from the bottom of the ocean, hidden away under tinted super glass. Like mermaids do exist, and you watch them everyday.

Like you're keeping their existence a secret because you want to be the only one to know.

Stop looking at me.
