Empty Words

Empty Words

A Poem by Jessy

With shallow breaths, I make a word

That turns itself into two,

that turn into a sentence

That turns into a few

And those sentences sounds right,

They sound fair, and even kind

But the meaning behind them

Is the last thing on my mind

Flaws accepted, or unknown

Which by who, that should be clear

To you and only you,

I am something to be feared

My mind's completely muddled

A jumbled up nest made of hate

Bitterness comes and goes,

But it's never come at this rate

Half of me is overtaken, and I'll be damned if I do try

But I'm the sweetest girl you've met

Innocence personified

With shallow breaths, I make a word

That turns itself into two,

that turn into a sentence

That turns into a few

Please believe me when I say I never thought I'd be so blue

But it seems to be contagious, and I've caught it like the flu

I now find myself asking "Who is this girl?"

I thought I knew.
