Shri Kedarnath darshan!!!

Worth visiting and the holy place of one of the jyothirling, at the highest elevation second to Amarnath, a difficult route, finally finished my journey to Kedarnath, the most awaited darshan of lord shiva, in my life since a decade I was planning to. Went alone to see my shiva, as expected it wasn’t easy, the most toughest so far, heard Amarnath is still more. The emotional ecstasy after seeing shiv ling of Kedar, is unexplainable and can only be felt. The miracle of bheemshila, to protect the people and temple after running out of river, with severe floods are unseen to normal eyes only devotees can feel his divine happenings.

It was difficult for normal people who can’t afford helicopters to visit the temple, since the narrow path is nasty without proper steps and flooring, people have to go by horse ride, paidal, doli, or a basket. I went by horse riding, it was difficult for me on the slopes downhill, they are too steep. It was good that I didn’t take my parents it would have been difficult for them. But the sceneries are amazing on the way to temple. On the road it is 150 km from haridwar, from there it will take another 22km on the hills.

There is no proper management of the temple. It is scary, for even horse and doli lifters, basket bearers, one who goes by paidal is the best way I thought but the route on hills is without proper lighting.

It is holy place but most of the people are seeing as a place to have nice experiences in Himalayas and weekend spent. But it is the place where people from south feel like visiting once in life time atleast before they die. So most of the bujurg(60+yrs) you see in this yatra.

There are lot of places to stay and for food. There is a cheap and best option near to the temple in camping tents. I found it best option.

Helicopters are difficult to get tickets for, but for older people it is the best way to see the temple.
